Point B is an ASUU-approved student organization for an interdisciplinary range of University of Utah students interested in transportation and mobility issues. They coordinate and sponsor guest lectures, Jane Jacob’s Walks, and other transportation-related activities. The group often works with Civil Engineering’s ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) to bring together students from a range of disciplines addressing how we move in the built environment. The reach of Point B extends into the community and beyond Utah due to its relationships with NITC (National Institute for Transportation and Communities) and WTS (Women’s Transportation Seminar, open to all transportation professionals).
Point B strives to:
-Unite students interested in a diverse range of transportation-related issues from departments and colleges across the University of Utah campus
-Promote student-based research and education in transportation
-Support University of Utah students through scholarships, conferences, and mentoring
-Facilitate community involvement and outreach
