On May 14, 2018, a symposium on education for water resilient cities was organized by the Department of Urbanism in partnership with the Center for the Living City. New water-sensitive paradigms of urban planning, design, and management were discussed and investigated to come up with creatives ways for how these paradigms can be integrated into teaching and research. The Center for the Living City, founded in 2005 in collaboration with Jane Jacobs, is a leading global urbanist organization, the purpose of which is to expand the understanding of contemporary urban life and inspire civic engagement and creative responses for the urgent advancement of social, economic and environmental justice. Professor Stephen Goldsmith is currently Director of the Center.
