MPPD Alumnus 2017
Guang Tian is an alumnus of the MPPD PhD program. His background is Geographic Information System (GIS). His current research interests include geographic data, spatial analysis, trip generation, travel behavior and built environment. His dissertation topic is about modeling walk and bike trip generation. He is co-teaching an undergraduate course – Quantitative Methods for Urban Ecology. He works as a research assistant in the Metropolitan Research Center on several projects, including residence housing preference in Utah, the effect of light-rail transit on traffic, and multiregional cross sectional household travel behavior. He has publications on housing preference, public transit and household travel behavior.
