Katherine Morrell works at the Economic Development Corporation of Utah managing the Utah Mega Sites program, the EDCUtah Community Match Grants program, Utah Sure Sites program, and the EDCUtah Rural Committee. As part of the Community Strategy team, Katherine works in tandem with EDCUtah’s Business Development team; while the Business Development managers focus on corporate recruitment and expansion, Katherine works with communities on strategic economic development and preparation for business growth and recruitment. Katherine completed her undergraduate in Geography: Emphasis in Urban Planning at Brigham Young University and then attended the University of Utah for her graduate work. She completed her masters in City and Metropolitan Planning with a specialization in Urban Design. During her masters, Katherine worked as an analyst for EDCUtah and then started full-time as manager of the Utah Mega Sites program after graduation. Katherine enjoys interacting with EDCUtah’s public members and utilizing her urban planning background to assist with community economic development and continued growth of the Utah Mega Sites program.
