Professor Danya Rumore spotlighted in Outside Magazine Podcast

Professor Danya Rumore was spotlighted in Outside Magazine Podcast on “How to Save the Soul of a Mountain Town.” In this podcast, Rumore talks about the challenges facing Gateway and Natural Amenity Regions (GNAR). GNAR communities are places with a population of under 25,000, and within approximately 10 miles of things like national and state parks, state and federal lands, scenic rivers, lakes, et cetera. Many of these cities experience big city problems within small towns, so Rumore explores ways for these communities to balance their unique positions as tourist destinations as well as maintain their unique identities.
